There are 1.6 billion young adults aged 14-26 around the globe right now. They are the world’s future with an expected 64 billion years of work capacity available. And right now a very large number of them are suffering from a great many deficiencies unable to live their best lives. Here in the US, one of their greatest challenges is mental health. Approximately 34% of young adults suffer from recognized mental health disorders. We believe that a strong sense of self or self-esteem is an excellent foundation to build a healthy life on. We believe that it becomes much harder to suffer from mental illness when you see yourself as your greatest resource for what you need to meet life’s challenges and to realize your life’s desires and aspirations.

The goal of True North Works is to help design and develop simple, inexpensive, effective and customized tools for each one of the 1.6 billion young adults in the world who desire freedom to live their best lives. When we refer to freedom we mean the intrinsic ability to do what is right according to an internal moral code and to each unique mind. It's the freedom to decide what is right for each person’s life and to pursue that fully. It's freedom from self-abuse, the self-destructive behaviors that result from mental health disorders and from drug abuse.

We know for a fact that the brain is neuroplastic, able to change itself throughout life, and we know that people can’t simply snap their fingers and be rid of low self-esteem or change their lives for the better. We know that like a cut that heals on its own, the brain has healing powers as well. Yet we also know that the conscious mind is unable to “just do it” and that the subconscious can’t either when it comes to lasting change for large issues. What we do know is that with the right kind of support or intervention, people do heal. Change is possible. We believe that what’s missing are tools that allow the mind to “wire around” errant programming. The simplest one everyone is familiar with is the lowly checklist or To Do list. These help our minds remember what’s important to focus on and pursue. They are effective but more is required for the really pervasive programming errors that present as obstacles to lasting change. The goal of True North Works is to help each person to discover and develop customized Wire Around Tools that enable them to reliably and productively create lasting change in their lives.
